In this week’s podcast I talk about freedom without consequences. It sounds like a movie title, doesn’t it? And in a way it is a fairy tale, yet this concept underpins so many of the social movements towards change. We spend so much time trying to change the behaviour of others, either in our personal lives or the collective, because we feel offended or threatened. Yet these feelings come from a deep sense of unworthiness; an unconscious feeling that we all have in common.
In this week’s podcast I talk about the elusive and multi-layered concept of Time. Whether it is the pressure of clock time or the emotions associated with psychological time, we experience time as a construct of either society or our own minds. To escape the confines of time we need to learn to connect to our own timeline and begin to work with “Father Time”; our greatest teacher.
In this week’s podcast I talk about change and how we can develop a sense of “stable flexibility” that gives us a foundation to stand upon when things get rocky. Our lives involve a continual process of death and rebirth, where we get to release old beliefs and even our sense of identity, in order to move on to pastures new.
Our perception of reality is changing. It makes us feel unsettled, fearful, confused, disillusioned and disempowered. What is true? Who do we believe? Is the world going to end tomorrow? Will we kill each other through endless wars? Will environmental disasters become the norm? What will become of us? It depends on which reality you focus on, the manufactured one we see when we look at the screen, or the real one that comes alive when we switch off and get back to nature. Which one will you choose?
